Sessions expire. That’s the point.
NightOS doesn’t have user accounts. Every session is a unique link. When that session is 24 hours old, the data behind it is deleted — plans, votes, messages, all of it. There is no archive. There is no “download my data” button because there’s nothing left to download.
Location data
We use your location to recommend nearby venues. We resolve it to a city or neighborhood — not GPS coordinates. We don’t store a coordinate trail and we don’t sell location data to third parties.
If you deny location access, you can still use NightOS by entering a neighborhood manually.
AI-generated recommendations
Plans and venue suggestions are generated by GPT-5.3. They are not human-curated and are not guaranteed to be accurate. Venues may have changed hours, closed permanently, or raised prices since the model last saw data about them. Always verify before you go.
Taste profiles
If you opt in, we build a taste profile from your session history — the vibes you pick, the plans you vote for, the venues you actually visit. This profile is stored indefinitely and used to improve future recommendations.
You can request deletion of your taste profile at any time by emailing privacy@getnightos.com. We’ll process it within 72 hours.
Safety check-ins
When you set up a safety check-in, you provide a trusted contact’s phone number. We send SMS notifications via Twilio at the intervals you set. If you miss a check-in, we escalate: first a reminder to you, then a notification to your trusted contact with your last known neighborhood.
Trusted contact numbers are stored only for the duration of your session (24 hours max) and are not used for marketing or shared with anyone other than Twilio for delivery.
Venue partnerships
Some venues pay to be featured in plans. These are always tagged with [Partner] so you know what’s organic and what’s sponsored.
We track whether a sponsored placement led to a visit (conversion tracking). This is aggregate — we tell the venue “14 groups saw your placement, 3 added it to their plan” — not “here’s who visited.”
Cookies & analytics
We use essential cookies to keep your session alive. We use privacy-focused analytics to understand how people use the app — page views, feature usage, error rates. No cross-site tracking. No ad pixels.
No accounts, no PII
NightOS is link-based. No email, no password, no sign-up. We don’t store personally identifiable information beyond the lifetime of a session. Once your session expires, we can’t connect any data back to you.
